POOL AND BEACH CLUB CLOSING - Saturday, August 27th
We have been watching the weather closely trying to anticipate Hurricane Irene's path this weekend and wanted to share some of our preparedness for the Beach Club Marina and outlying pools. We are taking a safety first approach in preparation for severe weather on Saturday, August 27th. The Beach Club and outlying pool locations will close to include the Holly Inn, Bretton Woods, St. Andrews, and No. 6 all day on Saturday and these aquatic facilities will remain closed for the entire day. The Carolina pool will attempt to open on Saturday, weather permitting. Members are invited to use the Carolina pool if weather is favorable on Saturday and passes will not be required for entry. Normal hours of operations will be in place for the Beach Club and all pools on Sunday, August 28th. Thank you for your understanding.

Golf
Since 1898, the stories of champions and the traditions of championship golf have lived on the fairways of Pinehurst. And Pinehurst will once again make history as the site of the U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open Championships, held on back to back weeks in June of 2014.There's never been a better time to enjoy the membership of Pinehurst Country Club.

Membership includes access to Pinehurst Nos. 1-6, three practice facilities, access to a "Top 25" ranked Golf School, as well as some of the best member-run golf organizations. Members can also upgrade to a membership that includes Fairwoods on 7.

Membership includes golf on Donald Ross's "crowned jewel" Pinehurst No. 2, revered as one of the world's greatest golf courses. Pinehurst No. 2 has hosted virtually every major championship including the U.S. Open, The PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup Matches, among others.

Tennis
The Club has 18 soft court and six hard courts (four hard courts located at No. 6). Four soft courts are lighted for night play. The Tennis Shop carries the top lines of clothing, equipment and accessories. Racquet stringing is available. It seems the second (maybe first) best spot for our tennis players besides the courts is our back deck area. Many of our members enjoy a cup of coffee and the camaraderie of fellow players after their game.

There are over 500 tennis members at Pinehurst that participate in the daily play, instructional programs, special activities and events. The Pinehurst tennis program and facilities have been recognized as one of the top in the United States. We hope you will make full use of our first class facilities!

Croquet & Lawnbowls
The tradition of lawn sports is alive and well at Pinehurst. That's apparent as you drive up to the Clubhouse where members dressed in all white play croquet and participate in lawn bowls on three championship-sized courts. Interested but don't know how to play? Pinehurst's own Director of Lawn Sports provides friendly instruction.  Member organizations also hold weekly clinics for beginners!

For information concerning the Pinehurst Croquet Club, contact our president, Russ Hanson at russpls1@nc.rr.com or pinehurstcroquet@gmail.com, or call 910-215-5929.

This Member area features a full service snack bar, shelters with picnic tables, paddleboats, pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes and fishing boats.  For more information or to reserve a cabana, call 910-235-8759 or email Tawnia Jones at tawnia.jones@pinehurst.com.
